I’ve only recently got into the AEC industry, starting in my current position in February 2007. Its nice when you finally find a career you enjoy! I actually look forward to work on a Monday morning (although I also look forward to the weekend on a Monday morning!). As my position suggests, I currently work on CAD, Autocad to narrow it down, 2D to narrow it down even further. I am entirely self taught on Autocad and am pretty knowledgable, I’ve even been known to write myself a couple of useful autolisps (I certainly wouldn’t rank myself as a power user, but I can hold my own). I reckon I’m doing well considering I’m still a relative newbie to the industry, and i’ve not even cracked the surface of what I intend to achieve.
My employer has recently purchased a couple of Revit licenses and I managed to wangle one for myself. I’ve been toying around with it since Oct ‘09, and have decided to document my learning in this shiny new blog.
